Press Release - Quality Parish Council Status
Horden Parish Council are celebrating following their successful application for Quality Status.
Quality Status was launched in June 2003, following the publication of the Government’s Rural White Paper, 2000. The scheme is designed to provide minimum benchmark standards for Parish and Town Councils, and to better represent the community they serve.
In order to achieve Quality Status, Parish and Town Councils must demonstrate that they have reached the standards required by passing a number of tests, including qualifications of the Clerk, Accounts, Council Meetings and Communications to name a few.
Horden Parish Council are only the 428th Parish Council in England to receive Quality Status. They marked the occasion with an afternoon presentation with John Cummings, MP, Margaret Nugent, Chairman of the District of Easington, Horden Parish Councillors and staff.
